Find a New Favorite at Dine Around the Lakes

Take a journey into Walworth County, Wisconsin’s diverse culinary scene on this year’s Dine Around the Lakes, scheduled for Nov. 6-15.

Throughout the week, each participating restaurant will serve a unique three-course menu, specially designed for the occasion. Lunch menus cost $10 or $15 while dinner menus cost $20 or $30.

Imagine dishes like candy pecan-crusted beef tournedo, gnocchi and tenderloin stroganoff, pumpkin cheesecake and more, all available with prix fixe prices at more than a dozen area restaurants – from family-oriented places to upscale, fine-dining settings in Lake Geneva, Delavan and beyond.

“We have a lot of unique establishments, ranging from really fancy to upscale cuisine, to really laid-back home cooking,” says Belle Carbonara, marketing and sales manager for Walworth County Visitors Bureau, which is organizing the seventh annual event. “I think this is a great event to celebrate them and encourage people to eat at a restaurant that has been on their list for a long time, or else return to one of their old favorites.”

This year, in particular, locally owned restaurants are eager to welcome curious diners of all kinds. As they take extra precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, these restaurants continue to ensure diners can enjoy a safe and comfortable experience while eating indoors. For those who still aren’t ready to dine inside, most area restaurants are offering carry-out service.

Final details are still changing, but Carbonara promises to present a true cross-section of the many choices available around Walworth County. Whether or not you’re there for the specials, it’s still a great excuse to try something new.

“I think it’s a great part of the event that there are so many things for so many people,” she says. “Even if you don’t order off the prix fixe Dine Around the Lakes menu, there’s still something at every restaurant for everyone.”
